Baby Shower with a Vintage Flair

We threw a baby shower for a soon to be Funky Junk Grandson yesterday. It was so much fun. We decorated with items from our vintage stash...you know us...we didn't have to look too hard for plenty of old stuff to make it interesting. We pulled some old chippy doors out of the garage. We hinged them together and they worked perfectly as a backdrop for our food and dessert tables.

Here's a close up of the cake. We found this simple idea on the back of the cake mix box. It was super easy and looked so cute! A few years back we made these elevated cake platters out of antique china plates and sundae dishes. A perfect touch to our vintage theme.
We piled the gifts in this old bassinet. We decorated it with varsity letters we found at one of our Junk Salvation Markets.
The Mommy and Daddy to be were definitely showered with gifts and a good time was had by all!

Don't forget our Junk Salvation show will be in Austin, Texas this coming weekend (May 17 & 18, 2013). We will be setting up at J. Lorraine Ghost Town. We will be Rompin', Stopin' & Junkin' in a ghost town. Remember you can still purchase early bird tickets by clickin' on the "about the show" tab at the top of this blog.

See ya there Junksisters!
