This year we have added a Friday Girl's Night Out to the event in Hillsboro. It's a breast cancer fundraiser with early bird shopping from 6-9pm on the 3rd of February.
It's a chance to shop for a good cause.

A couple of years back we raffled off this fabulous pink tree that was decorated with ornaments donated by our vendors. Debi Ward Kennedy of Retreat Vintage Markets was kind enough to put her wonderful designer touch on the tree by putting it all together for us.

Above is another photo of a Friday Night Girls Night Out where we crowned our sweet friend Sandy, "Trailer Trash Queen". We have since lost her to cancer....every breast cancer fundraiser we do reminds us of Sandy and how we need to keep up the fight against it!!!

In all of the excitement of being a vendor and getting ready for this amazing event I really overlooked the power of what Friday means to all of those who are fighting cancer or to those who have loved ones who have died or are currently fighting this dreadful disease. I myself lost my little sister, Misty to a cancerous brain tumor.
ReplyDeleteI will be thinking of her on Friday and I hope that lot's of people come that evening to celebrate sisterhood and helping one another with the power of love and lot's of shopping! Misty would of loved this wonderful opportunity to help others and have fun at the same time.
I volunteer for The American Cancer Society and I always let people know that they can visit www.cancer.org anytime for answers to questions that they may have about cancer.
