1962 cardboard Barbie doll house by Mattel!! It folds up into a box that has a handle on top! I used to have one and I played with it until there was nothing left! WOW!
I had one!! That is the one and only Barbie Dream House I loved that thing!! I played with it for hours. It was circa 1962. My sister had the Barbie Prom board game. It was reissued several years ago -- love it too!
Wow, what a walk down memory lane. I did not have one of those houses but was blessed with so many other Barbie things. When I was a teen I gave all of my Barbies to the little neighbor girls because I thought I had outgrown them. Oh how I wish I still had them. I have been tempted to ask if they still have them. We are friends on facebook. I used to babysit them in the 80's.
Whoa, major flash-back! I never had one of these, nor do I remember any of the commercials since I think they came out before I was born, but OMG! I had a friend who had one of those Barbies with the weird eyeliner and striped swimsuit. Those commercials are so cheesy! I had a Midge. I liked her better. She was kind of like Barbie's semi-homely friend but I think real girls could relate to her more. I had her boyfriend, Allen too. In fact, I think he's still in a box around here somewhere! ~Leena~
I had one of these cardboard Barbie homes, gosh I loved playing Barbies. My mom made Barbie clothes, my aunts knitted outfits for my Barbies too. All my Barbies were donated to shop Goodwill including my cases. Can't remember what happened to my cool cardboard house. Thanks for the fun memories.
i know I'm late to the party, but just had to comment ! i had one of those as a child in the 70's - maybe belonged to my sisters first, but i loved it ! especially the cardboard TV and photo of Ken. . . my mom didn't save any of that sort of thing, so i was bummed as an adult - but i happened to walk into a vintage clothing store about 6 years ago and just about lunged when i saw a set on a table. the whole living room set of furniture - minus the wall unit, but i didn't care. and at $11 i snatched it up faster than a frog on a fly. thanks for sharing such a great memory ! jillsibbald.typepad.com
Yes I recognize this. Between my sisters and I we had three of these Barbie dream houses. We of course went to work and reupholstered our fruninshings and made other accessories. Mom has kept all of them and our children have played for hours with them and now they are waiting for our grandchildren. Big Fun. Lori
