Last night all the men in the house headed off to do other things so I decided to take some time to go thrifting. To me it seemed odd to head out after 7pm to junk, but I was determined to do it...at the same time realizing I probably wouldn't find anything. Remember the old saying, the early bird gets the worm?
Well let me tell ya... I found tons of cool stuff! I scored a retro 50's metal cart (in excellent shape) and a bunch of old silver. Plus I ran into 3 junkin friends while I was shopping. Now I'm tryin to figure out of I really stumbled onto something or not. Is the big secret to JUNK in the evening after all the donations get put out? Hummmm...maybe all my friends already knew that!
Awesome finds! And who KNEW that the evening would be a good junkin' time. I'm all for that since I'm not an early bird! I found a similar metal table in one of my latest foray's. It was already painted red...and that was perfect for ME. I'll be posting about it on my blog soon. Happy Summer Ya'll!
ReplyDeletenew follower - fellow junk sister as well. I dumpster dived before they outlawed it here in California.
ReplyDeleteI used to have a kitchen cart just like that. Fun.
New follower - hope you will follow me back. http://vintageboomer.blogspot.com/
Great finds! I wish our thrift stores were open that late. They all close by 5 here and nothing is open on Sundays either. I keep thinking I'll get out there but with Jim's medical schedule these last few months since his surgery, time is so limited - just the reason I need junki salvation and therapy! At least I still have curb shopping on trash nights! LOL Have a good Sunday! Hugs, Leena
ReplyDeleteThose metal carts are so useful! I bought one on a whim and my hubby, who thought it was goofy and too big at first, stole it right out from under me! I may need to get another one. The silver is so romantic and charming.
