Yes our next Junk Salvation show is just around the corner. It's in Hillsboro, Oregon at the Washington County Fairgrounds on February 3 & 4, 2012. Watch the video below to see what our Funky Junk Sisters Vintage Flea Markets are like.

We guarantee you will like what you see...

This year we have added a Friday Girl's Night Out to the event in Hillsboro. It's a breast cancer fundraiser with early bird shopping from 6-9pm on the 3rd of February.

It's a chance to shop for a good cause.

A couple of years back we raffled off this fabulous pink tree that was decorated with ornaments donated by our vendors. Debi Ward Kennedy of Retreat Vintage Markets was kind enough to put her wonderful designer touch on the tree by putting it all together for us.

Above is another photo of a Friday Night Girls Night Out where we crowned our sweet friend Sandy, "Trailer Trash Queen". We have since lost her to cancer....every breast cancer fundraiser we do reminds us of Sandy and how we need to keep up the fight against it!!!

We told ya'll about the cool New Years Eve Party we were called to decorate...

well this is how we did it.

We started out with some old sign letters, two of them were 5 feet tall. They no longer had the neon in them but we were fortunate that they still had the white covers with them. So many letters we come across have been damaged and don't have the covers intact.

We wanted to light them up but we didn't want to spend a ton of money and we didn't have alot of time. Story of our lives, right, huh? Did you know you could buy Christmas light strands in bulk without the bulbs? Yep, we found that out. We bought lotsa feet of it, then we bought several hundred C9 bulbs in our favorite colors....PINK and BLUE. After screwing them all in we duct taped them to the inside of the letter.

Like this....nice and secure. We did have to add a plug to the end and some sort of top to the other end so we wouldn't electrocute anyone. Yikes.

Plugged them in and here ya go! We replaced the cover and surprised our clients with the finished product. We'll show ya'll that at the end.

Here's a pic of the fancy hotel room we stayed in since we did attend the party that night.

It was FAB with views of the city all around.

Here's the finished product with the lights of Tacoma behind. LME stands for Lights, Music & Entertainment. So cool, if we do say so ourselves.

The party was a blast and was enjoyed by all!!!!

We had a super busy week! We decorated a Posh New Years Eve Party for 350+ people that turned out fantastic so we decided we deserved an afternoon of pleasure.

We spent it looking through old Country Home (sniff, sniff, miss that mag)

issues and found this DREAMY pic!

Just stop with your busy lives for a minute and imagine yourself sitting on this bed

with your favorite magazines on a mild summer day.....ahhhhhh!

Sometimes a little color goes a long way. We have always loved the color turquoise it is reminiscent of days gone by. It makes us think of our grandmother...she used to paint the outside of all of her rental homes turquoise.

It's a happy color, she must have felt that and wanted to

spread the happiness throughout the neighborhood!

Many years ago, we realized that we love old things--objects that tell a story and that have had a life before they became ours. We also figured out there are a whole lotta other people that feel the same way we do. Traveling around to thrift stores and flea markets has influenced our decorating style and how we express ourselves. We see things differently than the average decorator, we like one of a kind, whimsical pieces. That's why we started our Vintage Markets...to bring our sense of creativity and love for old things to you...one city at a time.

Our next Junk Salvation Vintage Market is in February in Hillsboro, Oregon. Hope ya'll can make it and see the world through our eyes. Come on board the Junk Sister Train!

Everything is better with chocolate!

EVEN CANDY CANES!!!!!

Chocolate Candy Cane Cookies.....simply divine.

Cookies

1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (preferably Dutch-process)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 large egg

Filling

1 cup plus 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
3/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
2 drops (or more) red food coloring

1/2 cup crushed red-and-white-striped candy canes or hard peppermint candies (about 4 ounces)

Here's how...

For cookies:Whisk flour, cocoa, and salt in medium bowl to blend. Using electric mixer, beat sugar and butter in large bowl until well blended. Beat in egg. Add dry ingredients; beat until blended. Refrigerate dough 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Scoop out dough by level tablespoonfuls, then roll into smooth balls. Place balls on prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart. Using bottom of glass or hands, flatten each ball to 2-inch round (edges will crack). Bake until cookies no longer look wet and small indentation appears when tops of cookies are lightly touched with fingers, about 11 minutes (do not over bake or cookies will become too crisp). Cool on sheet 5 minutes. Transfer chocolate cookies to racks and cool completely.

For filling:Using electric mixer, beat powdered sugar and butter in medium bowl until well blended. Add peppermint extract and 2 drops food coloring. Beat until light pink and well blended, adding more food coloring by drop if darker pink color is desired. Spread 2 generous teaspoons filling evenly over flat side of 1 cookie to edges; top with another cookie, flat side down, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat with remaining cookies and peppermint filling.

Place crushed candy canes on plate. Roll edges of cookie sandwiches in crushed candies (candies will adhere to filling). (Cookie sandwiches can be made ahead. Store in single layer in airtight container at room temperature up to 3 days or freeze up to 2 weeks.)

Junk Salvation is a gathering of ... hand-picked vendors selling their best junking goods... and ...it is coming to a town near you! Lots of vendors, more junk, and more fun await the keen-eyed junker.

Our biggest show with 100+ FaBuLoUs booths is our Puyallup, Washington event! You can find some of the best unique vintage items under one roof.

This is a Friday night and Saturday shopping extravaganza. We help support Breast Cancer Awareness where we donate a percentage of the door to a Breast Cancer Charity.

November 4th & 5th, 2011 is our next Puyallup event! Friday night 6pm-9pm admission is $15.00 Early Buying & Event
As always Friday's entrance fee will be good for both days!

Saturday, November 5th shopping is from 10am - 4pm!

admission is $7 for the day. We have givin our vendors extra time to restock for Saturday!!!

Our Puyallup show is at the Puyallup South Hill Mall in the Competitive Edge building just outside of Sears!

If you enter the mall from Meridian go behind Target and just pass the Movie Theaters is the the Competitive Edge building.

Katie Seldon of The Classic Farmhouse is one of our long time vendors... now you don't have to wait for a show to purchase her wares, she has opened up a shop in Auburn, WA.

Her displays are always inspiring.

Katie's love for vintage is apparent in all of her products. She hand selects only the best for her customers.

We fell in love with this metal cart.

Decorating The Foyer With Flea Market Finds

It's easy to create silicone stamps

You know we love to create things from items we already have around the house so when we came across this easy tutorial over at Craftzine we went nuts!

We have so many projects we could use this for, like gift bags, designs on painted furniture or old window panes. OOOOhhhhh, this would be soooo cute on a decorative pillow!

The great thing about this is that you can control the size of the stamp...if your doing a big project like a wall...just blow it up on the copier if you need the design to be larger.

You will definitely see projects at our next show that use this technique.

We just love the gals of "Forget Me Not Dreams". They travel the country, rambling around finding all the cool junk from all the cool places. They love all things Vintage, Cottage and Shabby. Anything with chippy paint, rusty edges, vintage linens, lace and pink roses are their favorite. Here's their set up at Farm Chicks.

See! We told you they had Funky Fun Stuff. When you come to our Puyallup and Hillsboros shows...Forget me not dreams' booth is one you won't want miss!!!

Hope ya'll are gatherin' up the biggest vehicle you can find to bring to Puyallup,cuz you and your junk posse are gonna need it to haul all your great finds home!

Vintage Swimsuits

At our CDA, Idaho show one of our vendors was kind enough to let us use a vintage swimsuit that belonged to her hubby's grandma. We dressed one of our manneqins in it. This vendor had rescued it from the trash pile after grandma died...all the other relatives thought she was crazy for keepin' it. We've all been accused of that, now haven't we? It was similar to the one below.

When we got home, we did a little research on it...it seems swimsuits of this vintage are worth around $250! Now who's the CRAZY one? Sheesh!!

These old ads make us want to buy a jantzen! Glamour all the way, baby!

Step Up Your Decorating....With Ladders

You know you've seen tons of these old ladders at garage sales and thrift stores. Here's some great ideas for simple decorating with them. Love the one below...a great way to express a holiday sentiment. This could just as easily say love, snow or fall. Quilts are an awesome way to add color to any room. Why not display them altogether on a ladder?

The votives in the jars look as if they are floating in the air. What a FAB way to add a little twinkle to a party!

Another outdoor display idea...hang a vintage basket on a ladder and fill it with greens for the holidays. We're lovin' the burlap bow!

We just couldn't get enough quality vendors to make the show as awesome as we wanted and we didn't want to disappoint our shoppers! So now it's on to Puyallup. It's the biggest one we do and the biggest one in Western Washington...remember we'll be doing our girls night out again...so save the date now!! And We Had Fun...

Our glamping/tailgating weekend started out at Funky Junk Sister #3 lake place, where we did a lotta boatin', bbqing and a bunch o' family fun! Here's Mackie one of Dixie's little ones gettin' her game face on the day before.

After all the water fun on Friday we headed on to Pullman to set up our Bengal tailgate. We dressed up the trailer in all kindsa black and orange.

We had quite a crowd in our area...us junksisters really know how to entertain...even if it is redneck style.

How'd that cougar fan get in the pic? Nah...that's a bro in law having some fun. The gal with him is Suzie, she brought some delish pies for dessert.

Below parents of a Bengal player and a sister that went to WSU. We sure did have alot of those cougars hangin' out with us!

Here's the reason we all came...JT. It's interesting being a parent of a player. You spend a whole lotta time and money going to the away games....you have a ton of fun, but the person that really makes all of it happen, the player, doesn't get to be a part of the festivities. Of course they play in the game, but all the pregame and post game activities are done without them. We always thank our son on the phone for bringin' all of us together. We try to describe all the fun we are having because of him. The only time you actually get to see him is immediately after the game when they are loading onto the buses heading off for the airport, like the pic below. So that's what we do...we wait at the buses just to get a chance to see him.

He did make the front of every sports page in the state of Washington.

My sweet Funky Junk niece, Heather, took some awesome pics at the game. She's just started in the world of photography and shes doing a fabulous job so far. Thanks Heather for the pics!

Ok gotta go now, we'll be on the road again, drivin' 11 hours, to watch a game. Wish us luck!!!!

That's right we've loaded up all of the FAM and were taking off on a real fun adventure. We are going GLAMPING!!! Now if you asked our hubbys where we are going they would have a different answer for you.
They think we are going to a football game....well we are, but leave it to Dixie and I to find a way to turn tailgating into glamping!!!

We're drivin' to Pullman, Washington to see Idaho State play the Cougs with our vintage trailers in tow. My youngest son starts out his senior season playin' Washington State and we're gonna glamp in the RV parkin' lot!!!!

We'll be firing up the grill to cook up some pork tenderloin, burgers and bratz. Plenty of libations, including Grandma's Beer Ball Punch with be served. Sounds good doesn't it? Tons of family are taggin along so we are bound to have a good time and make a few memories (good or bad).

Idaho State is the underdog and we love to root for the underdog! That's what we'll be doing on Saturday...cheering for the underdog and screamin' for my boy! It always amazes me how loud and obnoxious I can be when one of my kids are on the field. I tend to think of myself as fairly reserved normally, but when it comes to football watch out The Junk Sisters are in the house!

If you'll be at the game we would love to have you join us. We'll put out the welcome mat for ya'll!

If your not gonna be a the game...do us a favor and root for the underdog...and #35! They can use all the help they can get.

We'll take lots of pics and show em to ya'll when we get back...now it's time to introduce the palouse to some real Funky Junk Sister's Vintage Style!!!

Found Us Some Old Crates Today

We were drivin' by an old bulb farm today and just outta the corner of our eyes we saw a stack of old bulb crates for sale. There they were abandoned....we just had to help em'. So we piled as many as we could into the SUV and found them a new home in our warehouse. We hit the internet right away lookin' for some good uses for them. Here's what we came up with...

A Fab dresser made with wood reclaimed from crates....

A crate used as a side table next to a chair...
An entire wall unit made with crates...looks pretty elegant don't cha think? In a rustic sorta way.

A rolling storage crate...painting it white adds a mod twist.

Of course crates hung as shelves on the wall....

Who says crates have to be used inside? After all their original use was for the outdoors....

This small crate planted with grass is a simple statement in a room full of white. LOVE it!!!

These monster entertainment centers have become dinosaurs of the family room. Seriously, we have seen soooo many of these at thrift stores and garage sales....with the new flat screen televisions there just is no use for them anymore!!

We just know ya'll are gonna love our next show. Our vendors have shown us and told us about all their great finds. They'll be hauling all the good stuff to CDA to present to you in the finest of fashion a junk-o-holic wonderland that we like to call a VINTAGE MARKET!

Just last week we visited with the 4th Ave Gals in Puyallup...they showed us some incredible pieces that they'll be bringin' along. We were drooling to say the least!!!! These girls junk and gather all summer long just to sell at our shows. They are always one of the busiest booths around, ya'll can tell it's their booth from the crowds and the laughter heard from across the room!!!

Here are a few pics from the visit...

OMG...can you believe the piece below?!!!! It's a home economics station from an old school!! Can you say....TO DIE FOR? You can't see them in the pic but this baby has the coolest wheels that move it around the room or the yard. The galvanized cabinets are actually bins, probably used to store flour and potatoes back in the day!!!
So you see, we know you can't always get to all the awesome sales, but our vendors can and do so we'll bring the funky finds to you...all under one big air conditioned roof!!! Don't miss it.

Flea Market Bedroom Designs

Pallets are everywhere, you don't even have to go to a flea market to find them. Above is a great idea for a headboard. The simple rustic look of the pallet somehow looks beautiful against the whites !

Looking for a fun, quirky, inexpensive nightstand? Here's your answer.

Flea Markets are full of ruffles and rust like the photo above. You just gotta open your mind and let the market trigger your imagination. There are ideas everywhere!

Somehow the chandelier below heightens the elegance factor in this otherwise basic room.

Fabrics old and new are easily found at a flea market. How fun would it be to use various patterns for pillow covers on your bed like the photo below? LOVE the chalkboard drawing on the wall!

In this photo they used saw horses and possibly and old door for the desk. The glass on top creates the perfect work surface.

At our last couple of shows we've had a vendor with old sign letters, he's got tons of them in all shapes and sizes. We bought a few for ourselves and have used them in various ways. The idea below is EXCELLENT! What a great way to ad whimsy and interest to a wall!

Remember our next Junk Salvation Vintage Flea Market is August 6th in Couer d' Alene, Idaho. It's at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds. Doors open at 8am for early buying and close at 4pm. It's only a one day sale and we won't be back there again until next year so you better make plans NOW to attend. Table Talk With FJS #1

Us Junk Sisters love to head over to Mom's house for some "table talk"! Mom is a magazine/design book hound. She has tons of them. It's a blast for Funky Junk Sisters #1 (Mom),#2 (Linda), #3 (Dixie)and #4 (Patty) to gather round her kitchen table for some creative inspiration. Mom will pile all the books and magazines in the middle of the table for all of us to read. She'll have an endless pot of coffee ready and we'll grab at the pile. What we actually do is look through the pics and exclaim out loud when we find something cool or useful to us. Then we shout out the idea and show the pic to all. From there we'll add our own touches by elaborating on the concept. Many a funky idea has come from gab sessions like these!

Here are a few of our favorites.

Invite some girlfriends over today for some "table talk", you just never know what fabulous ideas you'll come up with.

Painting The Outside of The Vintage Santa Fe Trailer/ Before & After Pics!

Goodness! It's been a week since we've written...shame on us! Here's what we've been doin'. Paintin', Paintin' and more paintin'! The Sante Fe got a new windows and a coat of paint this week. Yeah, she's been a busy gal...we've been pamperin' her for her big debut at our "Junk Salvation" Market in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. It's only one month away! Junk Sistas, have you made your plans with your favorite gal pals to attend? We expect all you Farm Chicks to be there since it's in your back yard. CDA, Idaho is just a short 30 minute drive from Spokane, WA. It's already been a month since the Farm Chicks Show so we're guessin' you are just about ready for another one!

Anyways...back to the Santa Fe...here she is on the day we brought her home. She's lookin' pretty tattered with the broken windows. The Funky Junk Fam thought we were nuts, but it wouldn't be the first time! Tee hee!

We've both had canned hams on our minds lately....can we say "constantly" lately? Perhaps we are obsessed. Probably! That's all either of us can think about. We've got craigslist alerts on our phones to "ping" us as soon as one is entered as an ad. Crazy, huh? Yeah, you might say so. Anyways....here you go....our latest finds. Below is my little bread loaf, it's a Sante Fe, not sure of the year but I was told it was a 1969. The inside looks older than that to me, but we shall soon find out. This just in, fresh from an MMS on my phone! Dix bought this lil cutie a few minutes ago, I think she said it's a 1947, but we'll have more details and pics later.

Last Weekend Update

Wow! Both Dix and I had great junkin' weekends. Dixie spent hers in diggin' around in Idaho and found this FUNKY chair. I had a grand ol' time at a warehouse sale in Tacoma, WA. Did I ever score! Here's a pic of some of the loot I filled my car with.I've got this thing for anything with compartments, almost everything I picked up has compartments or slots for storage.

Love the rusty pipe thingys...now I have to find something to do with them...candleholders maybe?

Sunday was a day spent with DADS on the Puget Sound followed by a BBQ in our backyard. Hope ya'll treated your special guys to a great day!

The Farm Chicks Show was absolutely FAB and we came home totally exhausted from it! But it's a good thing. Here are a few pics we snapped with an I Phone

of our booth. Our neon signs were the talk of the show...wouldn't ya know that we snapped a photo without the neon turned on!
The JuNk MaNnis went along for the trip. Serena's theme for the show was candy and our little candy striper (not stripper) uniforms fit right in!

The second the show opened these OPEN letters sold. We also had another neon SHOP sign that didn't even make it into the building before it sold. Ladies at the Farm Chicks really do know how to SHOP!

our thoughts turn to outdoor spaces.

We love everything about this photo. The hanging screen... the little paper flutes full of popcorn. You could easily recreate this in your backyard. Maybe you don't have futons sitting around but you certainly have sleeping bags. Pair them up with headrests you normally put on beds and your set! Christmas lights and paper lanterns instead of wicker baskets...

Our Puyallup Show Opened Last Night

And what a fabulous opening it was! Tons of Junk Sisters attended including this clan of sis in laws that make a BIG SHINDIG out of it every time. Also in the picture are our cute Junk Sister mannequins showin' off their FJS apparel...speaking of apparel...we'll try to get a pic up soon of our newest burnout Ts.

Every girl's gotta have one! We've got fab displays, great prices and plenty of good company goin' on again today. Get your booty on in here before we are gone.

Is It Worth It?

Yesterday it took me four hours to pick up some funky junk for our show this weekend. Mind you...most of that time I spent in rush hour traffic! One of our finds was this FAB mannequin. I put her in the front seat thinkin' she might fly as the extra passenger for the commuter lane.

You can't read it but when I picked her up her blue name tag said Linda Junk!

But I'm too chicken sh*t to try to get away with somethin' like that so I did the whole Seattle traffic thing. Let me tell ya, it's just wrong to be going only 5 miles per hour on the freeway!

Meanwhile Dixie is travelin' 450 miles in a truck filled to the brim with stuff for the show. She's drivin this very minute (not alone-family in tow too). Her 5 1/2 hour trip won't be a bowl full of cherries. Can't you just here it now? "Mom, when will we be there?!!! Ya'll know this conversation will happen at least 15 times.

So we ask ourselves, is it worth it? Going to all this trouble for a bunch of junk?

Well we gotta tell ya...OF COURSE!!! The rush you get when you walk thru the doors at opening, the humongous building full of vintage stuff, the absolutely creative people that display it, the ideas you walk away with for your home....

OF COURSE IT IS!!!!

Meet L'il Brave

L'il Brave will make it's maiden voyage

to our show in Puyallup this weekend.

Make sure you add a little extra time to check out the vintage recreational vehicles that have traveled from near and far to show off for our shoppers. Vendors from our Portland, Oregon show, Joe and Lesa Randall, were so inspired by the vintage cuties at our Hillsboro show that they went on the hunt for one for themselves! Here's the story behind the Vintage Vacation Vehicle in their own words.

New to us, Minnie Winnie 1974 - Class A - Motor home! 19 feet on the road ….The total 70’s fun house! This is the day we picked it up, for sale by owner on a little side street in Stayton, Oregon! The cute couple that we bought it from, is now retired and not traveling anymore, Patricia and Preston.

We looked for a while in all the usual places, but had no luck. A few 21ft and 26 ft motor homes were out there, but no little Winnies! Most were not in good shape! What luck, a 19ft A- class motor home in such original condition! They are classic and rare to find. Originally it came in two colors choices, orange and lime green. We got lucky and got lime green interior! It's loaded with all the extras from the manufacturer and is still all intact. It has the original awning outside and inside bathroom curtain.

We found the original AD for this great Winnebago and are including the link. It's awesome to read and we will be, eventually, framing this Ad for the inside of our L’il brave! The only thing that has been changed from the original is the curtains. We've already bought identical material to the original and will be working on those soon! This little rig drives great and was raring to go when we stepped on the gas! L'il Brave has 78,000 original miles. w/318 motor . Since it has the original tires, we'll need new ones. They are hard to find, but we hope to have them on by Wednesday for the trip up to Puyallup ! This beauty which we call: L’il Brave - sleeps 6. Has the original stove, refrigerator, counters, table, beds, driver seats and interior, complete bathroom- including linoleum and upgraded double sink in kitchen. L'il Brave came with original air-conditioning, up graded double passenger seat and blue Onan generator , pull down extra bed w/yes the original ladder, drink holders and seat belts thru out! All we need to do is give it a little love and care and a real good cleaning.

We will have it up at the Puyallup show, as is….you can come catch a look at a true good old boy, vintage motor home! It reminds us of a cartoon character, The 3 little Indians! Since we got it last week it will not be finished but shoppers can look at it at the show as we bought it. Then come visit us at the next “Funky Junk sisters Show “ in Hillsboro and see what we will have done and the new curtains!!

With nearly 120 booths showcasing the best of their collections, with great buys on everything from vintage fashions and hot collectibles to beautiful furnishings and accessories.

We stumbled into Lighthouse Antiques and Crafts Mall in Olympia, Washington the other day and came across a booth that had quite a collection.... Do you know who she is?

3day Walk for a CURE!

You know us FUNKY JUNK SISTERS will have a little something to help support BREAST CANCER AWARENESS!

We are raising MONEY for the 3 day Walk for a Cure... a few of our vendors are walking in the Memory of our Dear Friend Sandy Hammer of the Geranium Cottage. Sandy passed away on April 6th, 2011. There is a donation button on the right hand side of the blog. If you would like to help, that would be great... these girls are tough, but they need our help!

Loved this idea from Desire To Inspire. Now...all us Junk Sisters know you wouldn't have to use NEW clocks for this...VINTAGE would be our preference! Besides how fun would it be to be on the "hunt" for a collection to complete this project. Wonder how many alarm clocks will be at our May "Junk Salvation" show?

After that... you could continue to look at our

August 6th show in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.

Amy is a very, very busy gal. She owns Poppy and Ivy, a vintage shop in Portland, Oregon and she is a partner at Found on Fremont also in Portland. She was a vendor at our Hillsboro show and guess what? She's gonna bring all of her fabulous finds to our Puyallup show! This gal has a love for vintage things like no other. She's always on the lookout...can you blame her with two stores to fill! We're sure the brakes on her car are worn out from constantly stopping at garage and estate sales. If you get a chance to stop by one of her stores...do it! You won't regret it. She brings the best of her vintage world to our shows and she doesn't disappoint! Ladies, make a date with your best gal pals for this Spectacular Spring event, May 13th and 14th in Puyallup, Wa.

We are cheap...er...ah, I mean... I am cheap

I guess I should just admit it and keep Dixie out of this. I'm cheap...cheap, cheap,cheap. Yesterday I took advantage of a small window of sunshine and planted some roses in my garden. After I was done I realized I needed to edge this new rose garden. Well, I would rather spend hours searching for a way to use something I already have for garden edging rather than buying it. So off to the computer I went...several hours later.... I found this awesome idea using wine bottles for edging. I love the whimsy it adds to the landscape. After another hour of browsing I came across these creative colorful steps. Clever! More surfing and I found the FAB outdoor serving bar below. I want this...now some people might consider me a wino but it could take me forever to drink enough wine to accomplish all of these projects! Ooooh and a whole lotta money too. But wait...I have a close friend that lives next door to a wine distributor. I'll have to hit her up to help me out.

Now I just gotta figure out how to build this wine bar.... looks like theirs more surfing in my future!

Thoughts and Prayers are needed...

For our very dear friend Sandy. She has been battling cancer for a long time now. She has also been a very big part of the junkin' community here in the PNW. For many years we have visited her sweet little Geranium Cottage and stuffed our cars and trailers full of her wonderful finds. We've carted the junk we've bought from her to our shows and and you've gone nuts over it. She is always there when we need a little extra somethin' for a display. Today she needs us to be there for her...her battle has been long and we are asking you, Junk Sistas, to say a prayer for her and her family. Pray for comfort and peace.... The picture above is from our show last October, we crowned her our 1st annual Trailer Trash Queen...she brought her vintage trailer along and rested in it between visits in her booth. At our show in May we will again do a Breast Cancer Benefit, this time we will donate the money to the 3 day walk in Sandy's name. The last time we visited Sandy's shop we toured her trailer...inside perched proudly on the window sill was her pink crown and sash proudly displayed. Our hearts skipped a beat at the sight........that silly little crown really meant something, it gave HOPE. We love you Sandy,dear Junkin Trailer Trash Queen!

We saw these while we were cruising an antique mall this past weekend. We just thought they were adorable.

Gotta tell ya...they come with a pretty price tag too. The sanitation truck below cost nearly $400. It is in mint condition, we're sure it musta got lost in someone's attic...forgotten til Grandma passed.

The one below was a little cheaper, we can just imagine some little boy playin with it in the sand hauling around his little cars.

Every time we watch this movie we want to move into the house they lived in. Seriously, we find ourselves rewinding the movie just to catch a glimpse of something retro...

like the Frigidaire Flair stove in the kitchen! (Don't cha just dig the crown she's wearing?)

Dixie (FJS#3) had this same range in one of her homes, and it was turquoise!

It's cool and swanky, a very sophisticated mid century modern style.

Even Bewitched had one! And you know that girl could have whatever she wanted at the twist of her cute lil nose!

So James Bond...the way the stove top pulled out.

And so Back To The Future...the way the oven door opened!
